Posted Date: 4/1/2011
Please join us for Earth Day Celebration and Concert in the Park, a free Signature Event brought to you by the City of Sedona Department of Parks and Recreation. On Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Posse Grounds multi-use field is the place to be. Posse Grounds Park is located at 525 Posse Ground Road.

The live Concert in the Park, beginning at 11 a.m., will feature local musicians Aces N Eights, sponsored by Waste Management. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a relaxing time on the grass in the sunshine with great music. Sedona Recycles will be grilling food for purchase.

Electronic recycling will be available early at this event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot, right by the entrance to the concert.

There will be interesting and informative vendors on site whose primary goals and/or organizational focuses are environmental education, preservation, sustainability, green living or healthy lifestyles. Arizona Public Service (APS) will be giving away free CFL light bulbs. Children can enjoy filling in their Vendor Passports again this year. Each child that fills the book with stickers will receive a goodie bag with prizes.

Please remember that dogs on leashes are welcome, but you must pick up after your pet. This is sure to be a fun, informative day for our community. Parks and Recreation wishes to thank this year’s sponsors, Waste Management, Mago Healing Center, Safeway and Arizona Water Company, which helped to make the event possible.
