This bike skills park is not yet built. On October 8, 2013 City Council approved this project moving forward. Council directed staff to work with the bike community/user groups on a design for a bike skills park to be located at Site 1.
Good news is, the money needed to pay for Design of the park was raised! Check out all the donors and sponsors that made this possible.
Where are we now?
A design firm was chosen and the lucky group is International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) with the help of STANTEC Consulting Services, Inc. On November 4 we had our kick off meetings and site visits and IMBA/Stantec are creating preliminary designs of the park showing recommended phases and amenities.
January 7th- City staff and Bike Skills Work Group will meet to look over first three conceptual designs. Amenities will be chosen based on appropriateness and budget.
January 26th- A Community Outreach meeting will be held in the Vultee Conference room at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. This is open to the public. Participants will be able to give their feedback on proposed bike skills park designs.
- If you would like to donate money for this project, you are able to do so on the Verde Valley Cyclists Coalition webpage.
- Come to the Community Outreach meeting on January 26th. 5:30 p.m. in the Vultee Conference Room at City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive.
Questions about this park may be directed to the City of Sedona Bicycle Coordinator.
