Rob Adams was born and raised on a ranch located south of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He received a business degree from Colorado State University and has owned and operated six different businesses during his working career. He moved to Scottsdale Arizona in 1983 to become general manager of his family's business, Adams Arabians. Rob and his wife, Christine moved to the Verde Valley in 1994. During the last sixteen years he has served as director or officer on numerous boards including the Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Verde Rural Fire Department and the Verde Valley Senior Center. He also served as President of the Cornville Community Association and Chairman of the Cornville Park development. In 2002 he was honored as the Yavapai County Philanthropist of the Year. Rob and his wife presently own Prasad Investments, a real estate development and investment company.

Rob was appointed to the City Council in February 2006 and was first elected as Mayor in May 2008. He was elected to his second term by a landslide in March 2010. Rob’s primary focus, as Mayor, has been sound management of the budget during the challenging economic times. His work with the Council and City staff has resulted in a balanced budget and streamlined City operations. He believes in community involvement in governmental affairs and has been instrumental in forming citizen committees and commissions that address issues such as the budget, sustainability, substance abuse, arts education and community enhancement. Adams hopes to encourage the development of educational, medical, and other “clean” industry in Sedona, as well as a conference center and outdoor event venue. He is also a proponent of community parks and intra- community walking and bike trails. Rob envisions Sedona as a model city that encourages sustainable living in harmony with its environment.
