Welcome to the City of Sedona’s monthly newsletter! This is to help keep residents informed on City happenings. Read on for a round up of interesting news, events and announcements.

City Council Recap

Here’s a recap of recent City Council meetings and some decisions that may interest you:

  • On Feb. 27, 2024, City Council was given a presentation on the December 2023 Sales and Bed Tax Report.
  • The Public Hearing on the draft 10-year Community Plan is on Mar. 12 starting at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers. Council is expected to continue discussion of the draft plan on March 13 with possible adoption of the plan on March 26. On Feb 28, 2024, City Council provided direction on additional refinements to the draft, in addition to the recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting on Feb. 20, 2024.

… that we’ve released our 2023 Community Report? The report highlights last year’s key accomplishments and provides a look at major objectives for 2024! We’ve also created an informative video that compliments the report! Please share the video and report with your friends and neighbors.

Events and News

Save the date:

  • The free Sedona Trailhead Shuttles will run daily now through April 21 to the most popular trailheads, including Dry Creek Vista, Mescal, Soldiers Pass, Little Horse, and Cathedral Rock. The shuttle operates between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm.
  • Nominate your favorite artist for the Mayor’s Arts Awards! Nominations are due by April 30.
  • The Community Police Academy is coming up from May 7 through June 18 on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
  • The City of Sedona invites 501(c) organizations to apply for funding through the Small Grants Program. Applications are due by 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, with awards finalized in July by City Council. Learn more and apply!
  • The Sedona Police Department’s K9 Sam will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Sam’s vest is sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
