Highlights: Containment increases to 53% the Pocket Fire.

 

Operations: Wednesday, firefighting personnel made progress on the West Fork Drainage. All dozer lines continue to hold. Crews are monitoring, patrolling, and strengthening containment lines as well as prepping 89A, Seven Canyons, and Red Rock Powerline Road. Additional aerial resources have been ordered to assist in firefighting efforts, as well as an additional heli-base being established in Williams for more air resources. Crews will continue to identify contingency lines on the north perimeter of the fire. Resources continue to be available for initial attack.

 

Crews are working directly along the fire’s edge to control its progression. If fire behavior is conducive, firefighters will continue to maintain existing dozer lines in burned out areas, helping to keep it contained. To ensure fire lines will hold, firefighters will continue to patrol and secure the fire.

 

Evacuations and Closures: The Yavapai County Sheriff (928-771-3260) has put the Seven Canyons and Enchantment zones into SET status. The map is available at shorturl.at/eTtJC. Weather: Isolated showers expected after 3:00 p.m. along with gusty outflow winds around 30 mph are anticipated. Minimal to no precipitation is expected, with isolated lightning strikes.
