Sewer manhole work scheduled to begin July 20

SEDONA, Ariz. – From July 20 – August 14, 2026, AMKA Services, LLC in coordination with the city of Sedona, will begin a sewer manhole project. The project consists of adding protective liners to manholes in several Sedona neighborhoods.

Manhole (MH) relining is a trenchless way to repair and restore deteriorating sewer-access manholes. Instead of excavating roads and replacing the entire structure, a polyurea coating will be applied to the interior walls to create a durable, seamless, and leak-proof barrier, extending the useful life of the manholes.

The roads below are on the schedule:

  • Willow Way (4 MH)
  • Birch Boulevard (6 MH)
  • Oak Creek Boulevard (6 MH)
  • Inspirational Drive (8 MH)
  • View Drive (5 MH)
  • June Bug (1 MH)
  • Traumeri Lane (1 MH)
  • San Patricio - rear easement (1 MH)
  • Little Elf Drive (1 MH)
  • El Camino Drive (2 MH)
  • N SR 89A - shoulder (1 MH)
  • Northview - rear easement (2 MH)
  • Royal Glen Lane (3 MH)

 

Possible public and neighborhood impacts

  • Traffic Control: Temporary lane restrictions, road closures, detours, and parking restrictions near the manholes
  • Equipment Noise: Sandblasting, vacuum trucks, and generators running during work hours
  • Odor: Potential brief chemical or sewage smells during cleaning and lining phases
  • Service Continuity: There will be no interruption to sewer service

 

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of neighbors during the sewer manhole work. For everyone’s safety, please follow instructions on signs, including any temporary road restrictions,” said Roxanne Holland director of public works for the city of Sedona.

To make sure residents are aware of the project, the city will be posting door hangers or flyers with more details in impacted neighborhoods before work begins.
