Explore Sedona's Vibrant Arts & Culture
Sedona’s beautiful scenery attracts 4 million visitors each year, offering outdoor adventures, Native American history, arts, wellness retreats, and great food. It’s also a base for exploring the Grand Canyon, Arizona wine country, and nearby towns like Flagstaff and Jerome. Local shops sell Navajo rugs, Hopi Kachina dolls, and sculptures, while galleries feature landscapes and works by artists like Dorothea Tanning and Joe Beeler. Sedona’s culture comes to life with live music, dance, poetry readings, and film festivals.
City Programs and Exhibits
A Cultural Hub
Since its incorporation in 1988, the City has prioritized the arts. Nancy Lattanzi, Sedona's Arts & Culture Specialist, oversees programs like Artist in the Classroom, City Hall Art Rotation, the Mayor's Arts Awards, Monthly Moments of Art, and Art in Public Places. An artist herself, Lattanzi has advanced the City’s dedication to the arts for over a decade, fostering community connections and blending creativity with environmentalism.
Nancy's work continues the Arts Commission’s vision of Sedona as “a community animated by the arts,” where “the arts and the environment play equal and complementary roles.” Quotes from the draft vision statement for the Sedona Arts and Cultural Commission by Marilyn Nicholson, Sedona Academy/Sedona Forum VI Research Report, January 1990.
