Conflict resolution help
Sedona Mediation Services is a non-profit program sponsored by the City to help the Sedona community work together more effectively. Since disagreements are a normal part of life, we provide ways for residents to handle conflicts respectfully and find fair solutions.
Facilitating communication
Mediation assists people who are struggling to communicate or have reached a deadlock in their discussions. Instead of letting problems escalate, mediation creates a safe and comfortable space for them to talk through their differences and come up with creative solutions.
What is mediation?
Mediation is an informal and confidential meeting between the people involved in the dispute, guided by a neutral third party called a mediator. The mediator helps facilitate the conversation, encouraging everyone to explore options for a solution that works for everyone. Unlike court proceedings, mediation is private, cooperative, and often quicker and less expensive.
Benefits of mediation
Instead of having a judge make a decision you might not agree with, mediation allows people to collaborate on a solution that benefits both sides. Most people can resolve their issues if they are willing to sit down and talk about it. The mediator manages the process, while the parties involved are responsible for reaching an agreement.
