The Public Works Department accepts email requests for Flood Hazard Status reports. These reports are based on staff’s interpretation of the following studies:
- Flood Insurance Rate Map issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and
- Sedona Floodplain Master Plan Update, performed by JE Fuller and adopted by Sedona City Council in July 2022
Request a Flood Hazard Status report
To request the Flood Hazard Status report, the following information must be included with the request:
- Parcel or tax assessor number (APN). This must be the current APN. A flood hazard status report cannot be completed if an invalid parcel number is provided.
- Street address. This helps confirm the property for the request is valid.

Response time may be 2-3 business days. Public Works offices are open to the public Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Please email your request to: FloodStatus@SedonaAz.gov.
Certification
The interpretation provided by the Public Works staff is not an instrument of certification. Certification must be determined by a field survey performed by a registered land surveyor or professional engineer. The information supplied with the Flood Hazard Status relates only to flood hazard areas formally designated by FEMA and/or local city floodplain maps.

This application shows both COS local floodplains and FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA).
Coconino County FEMA maps (GIS): Floodplain Inquiry App
This application only provides FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) and does not show local COS floodplain mapping.
FEMA Map Service Center (GIS): FEMA Flood Map Service Center
This application only provides FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) and does not show local COS floodplain mapping.
City of Sedona Public GIS: GIS MAP VIEWER for PUBLIC
This shows both local COS floodplain mapping (for both counties) but does not provide detailed FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA).
