City of Sedona
Home MenuCoffee Pot Shared Use Path
In response to community feedback and as part of the Sedona in Motion initiative, which aims to reduce traffic and improve access and safety for pedestrians and cyclists, the City of Sedona is actively developing a system of shared-use paths throughout the city.
Current status
The feasibility study and pre-design phases are complete and the design phase is underway. Construction start is anticipated in summer 2025. A letter to residents reporting the change in project status was hand-delivered in early February 2025.
If you live along the route, the City encourages residents and property owners to meet one-on-one with City staff to discuss the project and how it may impact your property and the neighborhood as a whole. Meetings can be in person, at your property, at the Public Works office, or virtually. Please contact the Project Manager with questions or to arrange a meeting.
Background
A shared-use path is an 8-to-10-foot wide concrete pathway designed to serve non-motorized travelers like bicyclists, pedestrians and strollers for both recreation and transportation. Similar paths have been built on Thunder Mountain Road and Chapel Road in recent years. The proposed Coffee Pot Shared Use Path will run along Coffee Pot Drive from State Route 89A to Mountain Shadows Drive and continue to Gun Fury Road, connecting into the Mountain Shadows neighborhood. Please see the project route map.
The estimated timeline includes design in Fiscal Year 2025 and construction in Fiscal Year 2026. Grant funding is being sought to subsidize the project. This page will be updated with budget figures as the project progresses.
